My mom and I were talking and she told me that this guy at her work calls it babysitting when he watches his kids. This is always a discussion in our house because Jared calls it babysitting too when I tell him I am going somewhere and that he will have the kids. I tell him that if it is his kids it isn't considered babysitting. You don't get paid and you don't go home when you are done. Do your husbands do this or is it just mine and some other crazy husbands out there??

Totally there! I can't stand it when Chuck says that. Like he is doing some type of service I need to reimburse him for in some form or another. NO IT IS NOT Babysitting when it is your own flesh and blood!
I totally agree it's not babysitting but I've heard oh so many guys call it that. It drives me crazy!!! They are the guys kids to and moms don't call it babysitting when they are at home with them all day.
Yeah, definitely not babysitting. I would say it can definitely be work. But babysitting - No. Does that make any sense?
But does Adam call it that??
MY son corrected me the other day when I made a reference to him babysitting that day. "Uh mom, I don't think it's called babysitting, I think it's called raising my kids." Floored me, because I thought he did consider it babysitting.
No, Adam doesn't call it babysitting. I don't think the hubbys should get away with that. :) I like cathy's comment.
love my husband but Bob says the same thing.
Not babysitting...parenting.
