Dahl Family Reunion in Utah

What a fun and well awaited vacation. Yes we did do Big Bear, but there is nothing like going to see family and having fun with all of Grammy and Grandpas fun toys. We decided to drive the long 14 hour trek to Utah. All of the kids did awesome. It is usually 12 hours but we went up to Bear Lake (an extra 2 hours) where Jared's parents have a barn with horses and a house in progess. It is always nice going up there because the kids never run out of stuff to do. We stayed a couple of days there where we went to the beach, rode around on the motorcycles and rode the horses. Payton was a little afraid of the horses and it took her a couple of days to even touch them. She did finally get on a went for a ride on Scoot. On Thursday it was the first day of Raspberry Days. Raspberry Days is an annual festival up in Bear Lake. They are known for their raspberries. We went to the carnival but about 5 minutes of being there it started to rain. So the kids only made it onto one ride.

We then headed down to Park City where Jared's parents main house is. Matt (Jared's brother), Jenny and the kids arrived later that night. We were so excited to see them. We only get to see them once a year and the girls seem to get bigger and more darling every year. I wish we could see them more than once a year. We all just need to move to the same area. The next day we went to the Alpine Slide and went on the rides there and had a ton of fun. We then headed down to Provo for the day at the park. It was the first day of the Dahl Family Reunion. It was Grandpa Dahls siblings and all their families. Don't ask me how many sisters or brothers he has. All I know is there were a lot of Dahls and I didn't get to meet everyone. Each family had their own shirts made. Ours were navy baseball shirts with a picture of Grandpa on the back of it with his signature cocked hat. It was neat to meet all of the 2nd and 3rd cousins, Great Uncles and Great Aunts that hear the many stories of Jared as a kid and see all the many generations of Dahls. We spent the day picnicing, water balloon and water fights and just getting to know everybody. The next day was more picnicing, water fights and getting to know everybody. We also left that day for home. We weren't ready to come home yet but all the reason and excitement to want to go back and do it all again next summer. Which we will. The kids again did so good on the way home. Here are some pictures of our trip...

That picture of Payton is CLASSIC. You need to frame that one. It's perfect. Looks like you had a great time. I LOVE the matching shirts with Grandpa Dahl's cocked hat. That is SO cleaver.

Renee! It was so good to see you at the reunion. It seems like there were just too many people and not enough time to get all the visits in. I am impressed that you have already updated your page with reunion stuff. You are awesome! When I heard everyone talking about blogging I decided to try it too. So check it out if you get a chance at yumariddles.blogspot.com. I have already added you to my links. Love your kids, they are soo soo beautiful!

Adam's grandpa has a house on Bear Lake, too. It's so gorgeous up there. And they have the most amazing Raspberry Milkshakes (of course that's what I remember). Looks like you guys had so much fun. I'm impressed with how great your kiddos were in the car! Lucky!

It was so fun to meet you at the reunion! Your family is darling. Feel free to check out our blog (redcchronicles.blogspot.com). I feel bad that I didn't get to chat with everyone for very long--I guess that's part of being from a big family. The pictures of your kids are darling, and your family t-shirts were classic!

that nike plus kit sounds way cool. I got Chuck an ipod a couple Christmas's ago. . . he doesn't like it at all, so I will have to dig it out and put it to use. I found some good play lists on Marie Claire's web page. Searched for play lists and it brought up a couple of them. I have to start running to something other than my huffing and puffing. Getting a little old!
