Not a Very Good Day

So today was not a fun day. Julian and Micah had their 4 year and 3 month check up at the docotors. Let me just tell you it was total craziness. I had Julian running around hiding from me while I was trying to get him undressed while Payton is telling me "stop Mom leave him alone". Julian then had to take a vision test and a urine test. Meanwhile I have no idea where Payton is and the nurses are trying to stop Micah from crying because I left him right outside the bathroom door so I could help Julian. Then Julian had to get three shots and Micah got two shots. One right after the other. Trying to console two kids is tough. I had Micah crying and Julian with tears streaming down his face telling me that "this was not a very good day Mom" (so sad). It is so tough seeing your kids in pain and them thinking that you did this to them on purpose. I know Julian thought that. It never gets easy. Still, everytime it makes me want to cry and I do. But then we all got over it. Micah fell asleep and I told Julian what a brave boy he was and told him he could have a treat. He chose McDonalds over ice cream. So that is what we did to make this very bad day to be now an okay day per Julian.

Since I've been to the same doctors office as you(unless you have changed recently), I know full well how invasive that office is with all their "samples" they require. I made the same mistake and took Ashlyn for her 3 year check up the same time as Leah's 6 month check up. It was quite overwhelming for all of us. I've now been at three different pediatrician offices, and unfortunately, that one was the worst. I feel like, while they are quite thorough, they seem to test for problems even though there are no symptoms. Maybe they call it preventative. I call it unnecessary. I feel for you though. It was a tough tough day for all of us when I did it (and I didn't have a third child to watch out for on top of it all). I can totally sympathize. You deserve a pedicure to say the least.

What a day! A tough one, is to say the least. I admire your patience and love. They are such tender kids and that definately comes from thier tender mom! You are a sweetheart. Love your guts.

Those are tough days that no one loves. It should be called "Tough Love" days. Its a good mom who knows a little pain is sometimes for the best in the long run. I can't imagine trying to get a urine sample from any of mine. Weird, why did they do that test?
Two thumbs up for McDonalds. That place has turned many a bad day into good ones for us too!
I agree with Amber. A day such as this calls for a pedicure!

Oh, the doctor day. That's when snooty old ladies look at you with three kids under 5 and say, hmmm you've sure got your hands full. When you're really in control and it just looks like craziness. Way to go, Renee. you're doing awesome.

Ugh Renee... I totally feel your pain (or at least can imagine it!). You're such a good and patient mommy. I think a McDonald's ice cream cone is the perfect treat. No one likes the doctor.... even grown ups.
