Sneeky Girl

I went in Payton's room last night to check on her because I thought I heard little voices. When I went into her room this is what I saw...

Clever for a three year old! Wouldn't you say? She thought somebody would think she was in bed sleeping if she put a stuffed animal there. Hopefully she doesn't do this when she is a teenager.

By the way... she was in Julian's room playing.

Procrastination

The one word I dislike so much but seem to do a lot of. I will say that when it beats me up long enough I do eventually get the task or, in this case goal, done. For my birthday, my wonderful friends pitched in and got me everything I need to start running. Although I didn't need this stuff for me to run but it just pushes me to really do it. They got me the Nike sport armband, carrying case and most importantly the Nike plus iPod. For those of you who don't know what this is I will explain. The Nike + iPod records the time, distance, pace and calories burned. You can track your results to your iPod nano then connect to nikeplus.com . You can challenge other people and track your progress. It 's pretty cool. But... am I ready for this? Will I even run one mile? Will I feel embarassed when Emily, Brooke and Joni run 5 miles and they see how many I do? Do I really want to get myself out of bed at 5:30 to go running? These are all questions I have been asking myself for a few days now. I do want to do it though. I have been wanting to start running and now is a great time. I know you girls are just waiting to see my name up there. I have put it off all week. See procrastination. It's an ugly word. But I think it's time....

Dahl Family Reunion in Utah

What a fun and well awaited vacation. Yes we did do Big Bear, but there is nothing like going to see family and having fun with all of Grammy and Grandpas fun toys. We decided to drive the long 14 hour trek to Utah. All of the kids did awesome. It is usually 12 hours but we went up to Bear Lake (an extra 2 hours) where Jared's parents have a barn with horses and a house in progess. It is always nice going up there because the kids never run out of stuff to do. We stayed a couple of days there where we went to the beach, rode around on the motorcycles and rode the horses. Payton was a little afraid of the horses and it took her a couple of days to even touch them. She did finally get on a went for a ride on Scoot. On Thursday it was the first day of Raspberry Days. Raspberry Days is an annual festival up in Bear Lake. They are known for their raspberries. We went to the carnival but about 5 minutes of being there it started to rain. So the kids only made it onto one ride.

We then headed down to Park City where Jared's parents main house is. Matt (Jared's brother), Jenny and the kids arrived later that night. We were so excited to see them. We only get to see them once a year and the girls seem to get bigger and more darling every year. I wish we could see them more than once a year. We all just need to move to the same area. The next day we went to the Alpine Slide and went on the rides there and had a ton of fun. We then headed down to Provo for the day at the park. It was the first day of the Dahl Family Reunion. It was Grandpa Dahls siblings and all their families. Don't ask me how many sisters or brothers he has. All I know is there were a lot of Dahls and I didn't get to meet everyone. Each family had their own shirts made. Ours were navy baseball shirts with a picture of Grandpa on the back of it with his signature cocked hat. It was neat to meet all of the 2nd and 3rd cousins, Great Uncles and Great Aunts that hear the many stories of Jared as a kid and see all the many generations of Dahls. We spent the day picnicing, water balloon and water fights and just getting to know everybody. The next day was more picnicing, water fights and getting to know everybody. We also left that day for home. We weren't ready to come home yet but all the reason and excitement to want to go back and do it all again next summer. Which we will. The kids again did so good on the way home. Here are some pictures of our trip...
